Dionaea muscipula ‘Twister’ is a distinctive cultivar developed by Diflora, belonging to the Werewolf-like group and originating from a cross between ‘Werewolf’ and ‘Dracula’. One of its most notable characteristics is the absence of trigger hairs—the sensory structures within the traps responsible for initiating closure. As a result, this cultivar exhibits a reduced prey-capture response compared to typical forms that retain functional trigger hairs.

The defining feature of ‘Twister’ lies in its uniquely spiral-shaped traps, which initially coil tightly upon themselves. This trait is most pronounced in newly formed traps at the beginning of the growing season, though it remains evident, to a lesser degree, as the traps mature. The cultivar’s name directly reflects this distinctive spiralling morphology.

The plant exhibits an upright growth habit, producing vibrant green traps that can develop pronounced red to pinkish pigmentation under strong light conditions. These combined features contribute to a highly unusual and visually striking appearance.
