Media:

Dionaea muscipula ‘Tower of Madness’ is a distinctive cultivar developed by Diflora, originating from a deliberate cross between ‘Master of Disaster’ and ‘Space’. This hybrid expresses an intensified degree of morphological distortion, largely attributable to the strong influence of ‘Master of Disaster’. The foliage exhibits highly irregular, asymmetrical forms, while the majority of traps display a pronounced longitudinal division, giving the impression of bifurcation.

This unusual structure is further accentuated by the presence of a double row of serrated marginal teeth, inherited from ‘Space’, which enhances the plant’s aberrant and highly mutated appearance. Collectively, these traits result in traps that appear to proliferate and extend in multiple directions, producing a chaotic and visually striking growth habit.

Key Characteristics:

  • Hybrid Origin: A rare cross between the cultivars ‘Master of Disaster’ and ‘Space’.
  • Morphological Distortion: Exhibits pronounced deformities with irregular, asymmetrical leaf development.
  • Trap Structure: Traps commonly feature a longitudinal split, creating a divided or bifurcated appearance.
  • Dentition: Displays a distinctive double row of serrated marginal teeth inherited from ‘Space’.
  • Growth Habit: Produces complex, irregular traps that appear to multiply and expand in multiple directions.
