Dionaea muscipula ‘Green Wizard’ is a low-growing, prostrate cultivar distinguished by its compact, decumbent rosette form. The marginal cilia (teeth) are notably reduced in length, appearing as short, spike-like projections rather than the elongated structures typical of standard forms.

The foliage displays a consistent yellow-green tone across most of the plant, with the exception of the inner trap surfaces, which develop a subtle pinkish-red suffusion. While it shares some morphological similarities with Dionaea muscipula ‘Coquillage’, ‘Green Wizard’ is readily differentiated by its distinct colouration.

This cultivar originates from the coastal plains of North Carolina and South Carolina, where it is adapted to a temperate climate with a defined seasonal cycle, including winter dormancy. As a perennial species, it undergoes an annual period of reduced growth during colder months.
